Straight Lines in Silverlight

Introduction

I will explain  Straight Lines in Silverlight.

Description

It’s easy enough to create simple lines using the LineSegment and PathGeometry classes. You simply set the StartPoint and add one LineSegment for each section of the line. The LineSegment.Point property identifies the end point of each segment.

For example, the following markup begins at (10, 100), draws a straight line to (100, 100), and then  draws a line from that point to (100, 50). Because the PathFigure.IsClosed property is set to true, a final line segment

Example

<UserControl x:Class="VC37.Page"
    xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
    xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
    xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008"
    xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006"
    mc:Ignorable="d"
    d:DesignHeight="300" d:DesignWidth="400">

      <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="White">
            <Path Stroke="Blue">
                  <Path.Data>
                        <PathGeometry>
                              <PathFigure IsClosed="True" StartPoint="10,100">
                                    <LineSegment Point="100,100" />
                                    <LineSegment Point="100,50" />
                              </PathFigure>
                        </PathGeometry>
                  </Path.Data>
            </Path>
      </Grid>
</UserControl>
